TSE Cultural Tour 2023 for International Students

TSE Cultural Tour 2023  provided a window into rural Thai life in U Thong District, Suphanburi Province, on November 18, 2023. Among the participants were international students hailing from France, Russia, Japan, Myanmar, and Cambodia. Witnessing the students' keen involvement and delight during the diverse cultural activities on this excursion brought us immense joy. 

Collaborative Visit: Thammasat and Nottingham Engineering Partnership

Associate Professor Dr. – Ing. Thira Jearsiripongkul, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, along with Associate Professor Dr. Nopadol Uchaipichat, Deputy Dean for Innovation Programs Management and Acting in position Assistant to the Dean for International Affairs, extended a warm welcome to representatives from The University of Nottingham, United Kingdom. The visiting team comprised Professor. Mark Gillott, Associate Professor. Mohamed Elmaghrbi, Associate Professor. Alex Chong, Ms. Lucy Rose, and Ms. Rachel Buckley. Their visit to Thailand aimed at discussions to expand cooperation between the two institutions.

The Faculty of Engineering, Thammasat University, and The University of Nottingham have collaborated since 1996 on the Twinning Engineering Programmes. Presently, our collaboration has extended further into the Double Degree undergraduate and graduate programs under the TEP-TEPE project (5-year study duration). The University of Nottingham has also offered tuition fee discounts to students and alumni of the Faculty of Engineering who apply for and are selected to pursue postgraduate studies at The University of Nottingham.

During their visit to the Faculty of Engineering, the representatives from The University of Nottingham participated in the interview process for new students of the TEP-TEPE program. They also delivered special lectures on postgraduate studies for interested students and provided guidance on preparation for further studies at The University of Nottingham. This guidance was especially tailored for TEP students planning to commence their studies at The University of Nottingham in September 2024.

TEP-TEPE Homecoming Day 2023

On November 11, 2023, the Faculty of Engineering at Thammasat University hosted the TEP-TEPE Homecoming Day 2023 at the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit Hotel, uniting alumni, current students, and faculty members. Associate Professor Dr. Thira Jearsiripongkul, the Dean, presided over the event, which featured a visionary presentation by Deputy Dean Dr. Nopadol Uchaipichat outlining the future of the TEP-TEPE project. Accomplished alumni delivered insightful lectures, emphasizing socially conscious business practices. The event provided a unique platform for the exchange of personal stories spanning three generations, fostering a sense of continuity. Alumni representatives actively participated in discussions about future alumni relations activities, highlighting the collaborative spirit within the TEP-TEPE community. The success of the Homecoming Day was attributed to the collective efforts of alumni and current participants, with gratitude extended to sponsors for their crucial support, contributing to the event's triumph and fostering unity among participants.

TEP-TEPE Pre Engineering Workshop 2023

On Sunday, October 29, 2023, Administrative Building Faculty of Engineering Thammasat University, Rangsit Center. In the past, TEP-TEPE organized CivilCamp activities of the project "TEP-TEPE Pre Engineering Workshop 2023"  This event marked a significant milestone, introducing a range of engaging activities to participants:

Alumni from the Department of Civil Engineering provided in-depth insights into the field through course recommendations.

A featured lecture explored the intersection of civil engineering with advanced technologies like Robots, AI, and virtual worlds.

Attendees had the opportunity for hands-on experiences, delving into various tools used in civil engineering, including laboratory visits across different branches.

Noteworthy highlights included exploring Thailand's largest wind tunnel, conducting structure surveys with drones, endoscopic surveys using level cameras, observing research on structural repairs, and witnessing material testing.

The event also featured an exciting "WORKSHOP Bridge Design and Construction Competition," offering participants the chance to win prizes and certificates.

Thammasat University and Nagaoka University of Technology Strengthen International Collaboration for Student Exchange and Scholarships

Associate Professor Dr. Nopadol Uchaipichat, Deputy Dean for Innovation Programs Management and Acting Assistant to the Dean for International Affairs at the Faculty of Engineering, Thammasat University, warmly welcomed Prof. Dr. Masato Aketagawa, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tomoichiro Okamoto, and Dr. Suchai Pongpakpien from Nagaoka University of Technology, Japan. The visit was to meet with two students from Nagaoka University of Technology who are participating in the international student exchange and internship program at the Faculty of Engineering, Thammasat University, from September 2023 to February 2024. During this occasion, both parties discussed ways to promote international student exchange/internship programs between the two institutions, including scholarships for students from the Faculty of Engineering, Thammasat University, to pursue their graduate studies at Nagaoka University of Technology, Japan.

Siam Motors Group provides scholarships to the Thammasat School of Engineering

Ms. Karuna Buncharupat, the Secretary of the Thammasat School of Engineering, joined in celebrating the 71st founding anniversary of Siam Motors Group and attended the scholarship award ceremony at the Dr. Thaworn Phornprapha Auditorium, Siam Motors Building, on September 11, 2023.

Siam Motors Group holds a significant commitment to providing opportunities and promoting education for Thai youth by consistently offering scholarships to educational institutions and young individuals. On this occasion, the Thammasat School of Engineering received scholarships from Siam Motors Group as follows:

Automotive Engineering students received a silver medal (Very good performance) in the innovation competition for people with disabilities.

Mr. Suphasit Panvichien, Mr. Tanupat Wanasiri, and Mr. Chavis Ridhiroj, students from Automotive Engineering programme (studying at the Thammasat School of Engineering, Pattaya Campus), received a silver medal for their outstanding performance in the innovation competition for people with disabilities, specifically in the Community Technology category. This recognition was awarded at the 15th National Academic Seminar on Persons with Disabilities in 2023, organized by the Department of Promotion and Development of the Quality of Life of Persons with Disabilities in collaboration with Thammasat University on July 21, 2023.


Their project, titled "Development of Modified Electric Vehicles for the Disabled," aims to enhance the quality of life for users by enabling them to travel and independently carry out their daily activities. The project was meticulously designed and rigorously tested to ensure it best suits the needs and efficiency requirements of individuals with disabilities. Throughout the project, they received guidance and consultation from Asst. Prof. Dr. Nattadon Pannucharoenwong, a lecturer in the Automotive Engineering Programme within the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Thammasat School of Engineering.

One-day field trip to Tha Thung Na Dam Hydro-Power plant for a case study in LE 465 (Power Electronics Module)

 On 7th September 2023, we went on a one-day field trip to Tha Thung Na Dam Hydro-Power Plant in Kanchanaburi province. The power plant could supply electricity with capacity of 39 MW. We visited all processes of generating and controlling electricity connected to the grid network. Furthermore, we gained practical knowledge and experience from the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) engineers.



Triumph Motorcycle Thailand Honors TEP-TEPE Program with Special Lecture and Scholarships

Triumph Motorcycle Thailand recently extended an honor to the TEP-TEPE program by organizing a special lecture for students. The lecture delved into the intricacies of the Triumph manufacturing process, and it also shed light on scholarships offered by Triumph Motorcycle Thailand. Ms. Patchara Supinrat, HR Section Manager from Triumph Motorcycle Thailand, along with TEP-NU and TEPE seniors, shared their valuable insights into the company's production processes and highlighted the scholarship opportunities available. The event took place in the presence of Associate Professor Dr. Nopadol Uchaipichat, Deputy Dean for Innovation Program Administration, and discussions centered around future collaborations in scholarship grants. This noteworthy event occurred on September 5, 2023, at Room 313-314 in the Faculty of Engineering Administration Building at Thammasat University's Rangsit Center.

Over the course of the past 15 years, Triumph Motorcycle has been a consistent supporter of students in both the TEP-TEPE programs. Triumph Motorcycle Thailand has generously sponsored tuition and other educational expenses for students studying at the University of Nottingham in England, while TEPE students have benefited from tuition support, internship admissions, and cooperative education opportunities with the company.

TSE Management Team visit to International TEP Students

The TSE management team recently visited TEP-NU program students at the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom, and TEP-KUL program students at KU Leuven, Kingdom of Belgium, from May 1 to May 5, 2023. Despite the challenges posed by the ongoing epidemic, all students have seamlessly adapted to their new learning environments, forged new friendships, and integrated into the local society. Their ability to thrive abroad, despite the less-than-ideal circumstances, has been commendable. Furthermore, some students from these programs have not only secured acceptance for master's level studies but also job offers from foreign universities and companies. They are poised to commence their postgraduate studies and careers immediately after completing their bachelor's degrees.

TEP-KUL Enhances Academic Collaboration with KU Leuven: Expansion of 2+2 Twinning Engineering Programme

Associate Professor Dr. Thira Jearsiripongkul and Professor Bert Lauwers, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at KU Leuven, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Academic Cooperation to extend cooperation in the 2+2 Twinning Engineering Programme for TEP-KUL students. The Memorandum of Understanding was witnessed by H.E. Mr. Sek Wannamethee, Ambassador of Thailand to Brussels and Head of the Thai Delegation to the European Union.

 The Memorandum of Understanding on Academic Cooperation has increased cooperation in sending TEP-KUL students to study at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology in two other branches: Chemical Engineering and Electronics Engineering. TSE will start sending students to study in the program in 2024 onwards.

TEPE Launches New 'Double Degree' Program: Bachelor + Master Degree in Collaboration with University of Nottingham 

Thammasat School of Engineering (TSE) led by Associate Professor Dr. Thira Jearsiripongkul has partnered with the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Nottingham in UK to expand their cooperation and offer a new “Double Degree” programme for bachelor's and master's degrees from two institutions.

The programme is open to TEPE (Thammasat English Program of Engineering) students who have completed 3.5 years of study at the Faculty of Engineering at Thammasat University. Students who are accepted into the programme will then spend an additional 1.5 years studying at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Nottingham in the UK. Upon completion of the program, students will receive a bachelor's degree from the Faculty of Engineering at Thammasat University, Rangsit Campus, and a master's degree from the University of Nottingham. The first year of the programme will begin for students who are admitted in the 2023 academic year.

Huawei Technologies Thailand Collaborates with TEP-TEPE

Associate Professor Dr. Nopadol Uchaipichat, Associate Dean for Innovation Program Administration, and Assistant Professor Dr. Pisan Kaewprapha, Head of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, welcomed Khun Ratcharin Yingyuenyong (Deputy Campus Recruitment Manager) and Khun Pattaraphon Madisorn, Human Resources Officer from Huawei Technologies Thailand Co., Ltd.

Huawei introduced its long-term internship programs and summer internships, as well as its Cooperative Education Project, to students. The company also invited students to visit its Innovation Center to learn about key innovations and technologies in the digital world.

Thammasat School of Engineering Unveils Cutting-Edge TEPE Curricula to Shape Future Engineers

Thammasat School of Engineering (TSE) is set to roll out four innovative TEPE programs, collectively known as "Integrated International Engineering," as part of its 33rd-anniversary celebration. The primary focus of these programs is to foster a new generation of skilled and knowledgeable engineers. These initiatives are designed to cater to the burgeoning demand in the labor market and are incorporated into Thammasat University's Faculty of Engineering's Bachelor of Engineering Program, commonly referred to as TEPE (Thammasat English Program of Engineering). The newly introduced curricula encompass the following areas:
